The project transforms a dense urban block in Kunshan into an open-air gallery woven with art, landscape, and everyday life. Inspired by the poetic relationship between mountains and water in traditional Jiangnan culture, the project unfolds as a cinematic journey of courtyards, passages, and plazas — where visitors wander through shifting scenes like walking inside a contemporary painting. Stone and water become the project's quiet protagonists, shaping moments of contrast, reflection, and calm within the rhythm of the city. Rather than simply creating a commercial destination, Dengyunli reimagines the mixed-use environment as a cultural landscape — rooted in Kunshan's heritage yet unmistakably contemporary.
